Growing concerns are mounting over the use of plastics in the world today.  Our oceans are being polluted by plastics and landfills are becoming increasingly  populated by this important resource.  WyoComp is helping to educate consumers with facts about plastics and convert the market to using more sustainable alternatives like bioplastics and recycled plastics with increased biocontent.  Bioplastics are biodegradable and compostable.  Recycled plastics that are reinforced with biomasses (plant material sourced from the agricultural sector) make the material more sustainable, adding value while lowering the carbon footprint and extend the useful life of the material.  Composite products and materials produced by WyoComp are safe for the environment and contain no toxic chemicals or additives.

WyoComp's mission is to research and promote the use of agriculturally derived products and technologies to address long-term natural resource sustainability issues.  

WyoComp's philosophy is to pioneer or foster research that plays a role in solving or addressing natural resource issues that impact our lives today and balance the needs with those of future generations. The "Golden Rule" should be a focus and goal of all industry and WyoComp is here to promote its awareness and facilitate and support industry's transformation to one that practices higher sustainability standards.  The United States founding fathers believed in our Country being an Agrarian society, mainly for its sustainability benefits, and our vision mirrors them in that we also believe agriculture will play an increasing role addressing our Nations (and the World's) growing natural resource needs.  Agriculture simply isn't about growing food alone anymore. 

WyoComp was formed in 2009 by Heath Van Eaton, who is credited as an inventor of agri-fiber/plastic composite building materials using wheat straw (reference Wikipedia citation under Wheat Straw/Composite Lumber) to reinforce plastics (recycled and virgin) and co-inventor of patented structural polymer and biocomposite technologies.  The technologies were the first to be commercialized and brought to market and are still in use today.  WyoComp still produces the industry's lowest cost, highest quality composite fencing.  Mr. Van Eaton’s core research and development efforts date back to 1994, focusing on the use of agricultural related fibers in composites using mainly recycled plastics.  Initial bioenergy research began in mid 1996 with focuses on cellulosic ethanol, then drop-in fuels technologies and now high value chemical commodities derived from agricultural biomasses and wastes. We are now developing technologies to use our bio-carbon materials in lithium-ion batteries (used in smart phones, tablets, laptops, electric cars and more). WyoComp provides a broad range of consulting and technology services that focus on sustainability and maximizing value to the industry it serves.
